"Jia-Yee facilitates inter-disciplinary collaborations and partnership with healthcare and research organisations, industry and government. She is also driving the implementation of a new transformation initiative to enhance impact-driven research at the Melbourne School of Engineering. Jia-Yee was previously with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services where she developed strategies in health and medical research, and in the data and information management. She was formerly the Director, Health and Life Science at National ICT Australia Ltd (now Data61) where she worked with SMEs, corporations, hospitals, research institutions and universities to move research innovation along the commercialisation pathway. Her experience in start-up technology and management consulting companies has fostered her strengths in developing and implementing strategies that bridge technology, life sciences, healthcare and business domains. Jia-Yee has spent more than twenty years in medical research with expertise in molecular and diagnostic virology and led NHMRC- funded research. Jia-Yee has a PhD from the University of Melbourne and MBA from Melbourne Business School. "
