Research Activities

Examination of host-pathogen dynamics / interactions in several human viral, bacterial (Mtb, legionella) and parasitic (leshmania) infections. Research utilises gene-targeted mice, small molecule therapeutics and genetic screens.

Techniques/Expertise

  • Human immune system reconstituted mice
  • small animal models
  • hydrodynamic DNA injection
  • genetic screens
  • small molecule therapeutics
  • translational research
  • Field studies

Disease Models

HBV, HIV, LCMV, Dengue, Burholderia pseudomallei, Mtb, M. ulcerans, Legionella, HTLV-1

Genetically Modified Organisms

Large array of gene-targeted and transgenic mice (cell signalling / cell death pathways).
