Research Activities

Cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, inflammatory reflex, macrophage populations, pain research, stem cells & regenerative medicine (cord blood stem cells & mesenchymal stem cells - Stemlife).

Techniques/Expertise

Human samples, small animal handling and inflammation/arthritis models, behavioural studies, histology (including paraffin embedding, microtome sectioning, staining and analysis), cell culture, RT-PCR gene expression analysis, ELISA, flow cytometric analysis, intracellular cytokine staining and calcium flux assay. 

Disease Models

Arthritis, endotoxemia, inflammatory reflex, inflammatory pain models, in vivo,  in vitro & ex vivo bioassays
